The road up was far from straight!

Dora's Field, Rydal. Wordsworth bought this field, next to the church, intending to build a new house on it. But after his daughter, Dora, died in 1847 he decided to plant it with hundreds of daffodils as a memorial.

'A host of golden daffodils...'
