We decided to hire a taxi to Poipet rather than the bus ( a bit of comfort, it was when we we got to Poipet that the fun began even with all the research we still got scammed. Th first time with two guys helping fill out immigration papers they wanted 100baht each for 30 seconds. The second one was a bait and switch on our taxi to Siem Reap but I caught on to it before they completed the scam as the hotel rang me as they tried to tell me it wasn't coming
This the luggage porter at Poipet he wanted 100 baht and almost had a fight with another porter over our bags, this is what disorientated us for the scams as we so concerned at our luggage going one way and us another we were an easy target. He was genuine, it turns out we would have a lot of problems getting our bags through the paperwork lines
The taxi from Poipet to Siem Reap, they told us he didn't speak english so we talked about the scam his buddies tried to pull and then we discovered he could speak some english
