The colourful flags contain prayers. The colours symbolize the elements, as seen in the buddhist religion: sky (blue), clouds (white), fire (red), water (green) and earth (yellow).

Manang is the biggest village of the area. If you ever get there, try to avoid the main street, full of tourists and tourist shops, and get lost into the rest of the city. You'll dicover a completely different image!

As cars cannot access the area, machines are quite rare. Traditional techniques are still being used in agriculture and elsewhere.

These tea shops are like an oasis in the desert for the trekkers. Tea is so much better and cheaper there than in guest houses
There are thousands of these small temples with praying stones and flags along the path

There are some locals with horses, going up and down between the Thorung La Pass and the Thorung La base camp, looking for altitude-sick tourists to offer them a lift for about 200 dollars!!!
5416 meters. Cold. Tiredness. Amazing view. Amazing feeling. Congratulating people. A descent awaiting. And a little surprise: the half frozen little lake! The Thorung La pass is one of the highest passes in the world, and the largest one.

This is a small, but very interesting part, of the total Around Annapurna Trek. It is another thing though to look at it and another thing to trek it...
The Trek we did started in Besi Sahar city (although not in my GPS track) and ended in Jomosom. Here you can see the track starting in Bulbule, crossing the Thorung La Pass at 5416 meters and going down to Muktinath. Enjoy!
