[EN] Today was the start of the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. We decided to visit the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail in Alabama. It commemorates the 54 mile (87 km) march to gain the right to vote for the African Americans. This march started on March 21, 1965 two weeks after Bloody Sunday, when the first group of the marchers was dispersed by the Alabama state troopers.
[PL] Dzisiaj był pierwszy dzień weekendu Martina Luthera Kinga, Jr. Postanowiliśmy więc odwiedzić Narodowy Szlak Historyczny od miasta Selma do miasta Montgomery w Alabamie. Upamiętnia on 87 km (54 mile) pochód zorganizowany w celu wywalczenia prawa do głosowania dla amerykańskich Murzynów. Pochód rozpoczął się 21 marca 1965 roku w dwa tygodnie po tym, kiedy to pierwsza grupa maszerujących została brutalnie rozpędzona przez policję stanową Alabamy w dniu nazwanym Krwawa Niedziela.
