[EN] Today clear skies greeted us in the morning. We left the Junction Hotel in Takaka and drove to Collinwood to book a guided trip to the Farewell Spit organized by Farewell Spit Eco Tours. Next, we drove north in our car to Puponga, where we met the bus. The tour started on the bay side of the Spit and after driving on the Bay side beach for about 2.5 kilometers, we crossed to the Tasman Sea side of the Spit. The access to whole area of the Spit is controlled, because it is a place where many migratory birds stay.
