On our 1st full day in Galway we decided on the tour to the Burren and Cliffs of Moher. The Burrens are impressive in their stony grandeur. Under one burren is the Aillwee Cave, found by a farmer in 1940, and fixed up so people can walk 700 meters into its depths. We passed by many a ruined castle and church and were disappointed not to stop at the 5000 year old Poulnabrone Dolmen. The Cliffs of Moher are surely awesome, though we hardly saw them through the fog.
