[EN] Poverty Point is a Louisiana State Historic Site and US National Monument. It preserves prehistoric earthworks built between 1650 and 700 BC. It is an unusual site, because the extensive earth works were built by a civilization of hunter-gatherers.

[EN] Union Pacific railroad car. In 1986 when we lived in New Orleans, seeing these cars made us wonder, when we will see the Pacific Ocean. As it were, we have seen the Pacific in the end of 1988, but now was the first time that we drove from the East Coast to California.
